Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Before reading this letter, please read our brochure so you can understand what Memory Makers Foundation is all about. Please join Memory Makers Foundation by becoming a volunteer member. Our goal is to get members in every city in the Pacific Northwest and I am asking for your help.
This is a ministry devoted to helping others. For years, I have often wondered what I could do for the Lord. I am a good fisherman, and in our brochure is the story that changed my life. When we take a person fishing, it could just be the start of a ministry for you. After a family comes fishing with us, we would like to be able to contact the local church members in their hometown. For the members of the church, we would like you to take a loaf of bread or a dish of food over to the family that we just took fishing and introduce youselves as volunteer members of Memory Makers Foundation.
This is not a new idea. Jesus gave us these instructions 2000 years ago. We find them in Matthew 25:35.
"For I was hungry, and you gave me food: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry, and fed you? or thirsty, and gave you drink? When die we see you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you? Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and came unto you? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Truly I say unto you, Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me." (25:35-40)
My friends, all we are doing is opening a door to you that you may not have known was there. God tells us that this is what he would like us to live by. He wants us to be living examples of his love flowing out of us, witnessing to others. I believe that the rest of the family members will see you in action, seeing Jesus living within you, and that in time they too may want to join you in serving God.
This is something every one of us can do. Even if we are bad cooks, I have bought cookies at Safeway and put them on a nice paper plate that I covered with plastic wrap. It just adds a personal touch. Then I listen to what the terminally ill patient and their family has to say. I try to encourage them and become their friend. I often offer a word of prayer for them.
Friends, even if you don't join Memory Makers Foundation, please go to the hospitals, visit the sick, feed the hungry, and take care of those in need around your. If each and every one of us did that, I do believe we could help speed up the second coming of Christ.
Please join us by sending a tax-deductible donation to Memory Makers Foundation. If you know someone who would like to go fishing, please let us know. If you can't afford to sponsor a person, we can put them on our list and look for sponsorship. We are praying that the foundation will be able to get enough donations that we can provide a guided fish trip, lodging, and food, along with a caregiver if needed.
May God bless you on your decision to help our ministry.
Thank you,
John Anderson
